Jason Battista
Development Partner

Jason is a development partner for St. Charles Town Company who brings a wealth of leadership experience in the real estate, finance, and community development fields, with deep expertise in areas including, but not limited to: affordable housing, capital aggregation, leveraged finance, public-private partnerships, and more. In his role, Jason is responsible for overseeing new construction project sourcing and execution in high growth areas as the company seeks to expand its presence throughout the mountain sunbelt region.

Prior to joining the team, Jason was the President of Mercy Community Capital, a national Community Development Financial Institution certified by the U.S. Treasury, in addition to serving as Senior Vice President (SVP) of Mercy Housing, Inc., one of the nation’s largest affordable housing organizations. Under Jason’s leadership, Mercy Community Capital leveraged $5.5 billion in development; tripled its profitability, impact, and balance sheet; became a carbon net neutral organization; increased its credit rating three levels to ‘AA+’ based on the traditional Wall Street Scale; and facilitated the creation and/or preservation of more than 22,000 units.  Jason also played an instrumental role in helping oversee national real estate development in Mercy’s five geographic regions.

Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Northern Colorado, an MBA from the University of Colorado—where he graduated summa cum laude—and a certificate in real estate development and finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Jason currently sits on the board of the Religious Communities Impact Fund, a sponsored ministry engaged in community development investing around the globe, and his leadership prowess has earned recognition from the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award.
